Senior developer - RE:SYSTEMS (October 2007 - January 2014)
As the senior developer within the web development team my position covered all aspects of web based development. As well as developing solutions and websites for high profile clients including multinational ticketing companies, FTSE100 property companies and large UK charities, my role included training and day to day support of the other developers, technical direction on projects and implementing new technologies into projects and the team's in house CMS, and managing the team's comprehensive private hosting environment.
As senior developer, I'd often work directly with clients to manage new work requests, maintenance, creating specifications and identifying requirements and quoting for work. Over the years I held this position I created strong relationships with a large number of our regular clients and became their first port of call when contacting us.
Developer - Advantica (June 2005 - October 2007)
The role at Advantica developed from a hardware and software support engineer for British Gas field terminals for their gas fitters, to a PHP developer where I developed an internal work tracking system for the SIS team, through to a C++ developer on the RADS (Remote Appliance Diagnostic Systems) project.
Computer Science BSc - Loughborough University 2000 - 2005
A levels - Runshaw College 1998 - 2000
Physics A, Maths B, Computing B, Further Maths D
I'm a keen fell runner both mountain marathon style as well as regularly running with the Sheffield Hash House Harriers social running group. I enjoy photography, mostly landscape as it ties well with my interest in the country side and outdoors but I'll dabble in most subjects given the chance.
I follow developments and news in all areas of science and technology, love a new gadget and play the odd (infrequent, not strange) game of hockey when the opportunity arises.
